Handkerchief Top - Fuchsia Cotton

Kate has reworked the KATALYST favourite Handkerchief Top in a longer length for RS27, with a hypercolour palette of fuschia with lemon accents that speaks to the vibrant story of the collection. 

The Handkerchief Top is a celebration of Kate’s textile-focused design process and playful manipulation of shapes. Derived from two simple squares of fabric and undulating lines of elastic, this top moulds to the body whilst simultaneously reacting against it to create a unique silhouette.

This iteration is made in a brilliant fuschia cotton poplin that is crisp and responds well to the gathers and folds of this style. Lines of lemon yellow elastic stitching accent the top’s abstract design lines throughout. 

The selvedge is showcased at the armhole of the top and along the hem of the underlay, a nod to the often unseen details of a fabric. 

As a versatile, lightweight top it’s comfortable to wear in the summer or can be layered for cooler temperatures. It can be worn with either side at the front.

This style is a flexible fit so please refer to the size chart below for further guidance. Compared to the original Handkerchief Top, the Handkerchief Top Extended is 10cm longer on what was the shorter side and 4cm longer on what was the longer side.

Made from deadstock fabric. Made in Magandjin (Brisbane).

The Handkerchief Top is best worn when the elastic can gather in and scrunch the fabric up, so you want to pick the size where the un-stretched measurement is closest to your bust measurement - if you’re sitting somewhere in the middle, go up a size.  Compared to the original Handkerchief Top, the Handkerchief Top Extended is 10cm longer on what was the shorter side and 4cm longer on what was the longer side.
