Existing somewhere between a bucket hat and fisherman’s cap, the Paddington Hat is constructed from six individual panels. Deceptively simple looking, there’s quite a lot of technique in these hats.

The panels are cut and contoured to allow a smooth transition from crown to brim, with a flourish coming from an intentional exposure of the fabric edge along two seam lines. 

When we found this deadstock cotton denim with a velvet finish, we knew it was the perfect fabric for this style. Showing off the denim selvedge, 2 stripes of this run down the hat from crown to brim to contrast the hat’s smooth jet black finish. 

Velvet lines the brim and binds the edges, so this hat is just as luxurious worn with the front flipped up or down.
